From the excellent company New Chapter who has a number of well-made and well-respected products in great health food stores and vitamin retailers around the country.
We were surprised at the score they got in the lab because we have tested this product in the past and it has usually scored pretty well, but we did two different tests for this review and both of those test scores were very low. The better of the two scores shows it only has 18.3mg of total sterols. They give you a range because things do fluctuate slightly, so they give a range of 272 -304 and yet both of the times we had it tested the score was under 20mg – not even close to 272mg the label guarantees. So it’s shocking to see such a bad score especially when they charge about $35 a bottle.
